Natchez Mock Orange Shrub (Philadelphus coronarius 'Natchez') is a deciduous shrub that grows quickly in both height and width. Branches are covered with fresh green foliage for a nice effect even when not in flower. Natchez Mock Orange is noted for its fountain-like shape and very vigorous growth rate. The late spring showy white flowers dominate the landscape with their size and orange blossom scent. Flowers are very large, showy, cup-shaped and are pure white. They come in singles and can be up to 2” across. Very easy to grow on most sites, including those that are drought prone. It can be used in a large area to make a screen when plants are grouped together. Prune every year after blooming, cutting out oldest wood and surplus shoots at the base.
Uses: landscapes, walkways, driveway gardens/patio, (where everyone can enjoy its beauty and fragrance), makes a nice flowering hedge.
